Prophylactic self-isolation for face rejuvenation. Day 93rd

Instead of all the possible make-up removers – use this simple method!

Face skin rejuvenation starts by itself, repeatedly, again and again, during night time. Face skin should be clean – that is all what needed for skin to be well-looking.

So much is already said about coconut oil and its benefits for skin. Lets make it real!

Set for face cleaning: cotton pads, coconut oil, cotton face towel. Photo by Dr. A. Palatronis on

  • coconut oil
  • cotton pads
  • small face towel
  • warm-to-hot water (40 Celsius degree)

How to clean the skin in the evening?

  1. remove skin impurities and make-up by using cotton pads with coconut oil on it
    1. for eye make up: close the eye, apply cotton pad with coconut oil to the eye, count till 5 and wipe over the eye gently
  2. wipe gently with cotton pad and coconut oil all the face and neck skin. It is all greasy now, right?
  3. soak a face towel in warm-to-hot water (40 Celsius degree only!) and wipe the skin firmly but gently to clean all the coconut grease
  4. spray the skin with spring water, rose water or just purified water for refreshment

Important notes:

  • Warm-to-hot water should not burn the skin, I choose the temperature which is not warm for the skin, but a little bit hot to touch. A little bit. Take care!
  • Use warm-to-hot tap water or purified water which was warmed up
  • Use organic cotton face towel
  • In general, this is a good way to avoid additional chemicals on the skin and inside the body, because everything goes inside, but nobody tracks that steps…

Prophylactic self-isolation for body-in-mask relaxation. Day 71st

I would not describe these days as idle, but some moments deserve to be as lazy-crazy as this “body-in-mask” relaxation. After initial thorough skin exfoliation, it would be a perfect opportunity to gratify your body with astounding body mask. Any cosmetic salon would not offer such a beauty, I’m sure!

Body mask recipe

  • Turmeric powder, 3 Tbsp
  • Goat milk powder, 3 Tbsp
  • Warm water

How to make it:

  • Mix powder ingredients in a bowl
  • Add warm water slowly portion by portion to make a paste consistency from powder ingredients
  • Apply on skin (legs, arms, face, decollete zone) by using cotton pads, lay down, listen calm music and relax for 15 minutes
  • Wash thoroughly by using body sponge

Important notes

  • If no goat milk powder available – just use goat milk. In this case, just mix turmeric powder with warm milk and apply to skin
  • Turmeric may stain the skin. Yellow color of turmeric should wash out, but if not – no worries. As cells of skin are constantly renewing, the color will disappear in a few days. In my experience, no yellow color was left after washing the mask away in a shower
  • Cover a sofa or bed with “cosmetic” towel, a towel which you use for cosmetic purposes only. The “cells” of your sofa are not renewing!:)

Good to know

Curcumin, which is the active compound of turmeric (Curcuma longa) root, is known by its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-neoplastic properties. The research shows that turmeric may be used medically to treat a variety of dermatologic diseases.

Skin conditions examined include acne, alopecia, atopic dermatitis, facial photoaging, oral lichen planus, pruritus, psoriasis, radiodermatitis, and vitiligo.

Turmeric is recognised as generally safe even at high oral doses and side effects are very rare. However, according to some studies, curcumin could interact with anticoagulation and antiplatelet medications, stimulate gallbladder contractions, exacerbating symptoms in patients with gallstones (1).

Prophylactic self-isolation for easy skin alimentation. Day 64th.

– What are you usually doing with a butter package when butter is finished?

– Me? I transform it into a feet mask

The grandma of one my classmate, years ago, was looking younger than others. Her skin beauty was a matter of talks among all three female generations: us (teenage girls), our mothers and grandmothers. As being in good relationship with my classmate, I asked her to find out that beauty secret from her grandma. The secret appeared to be as much sensational as simple. Here it is: while cooking in her kitchen, the grandma was always putting any food on her face, like a “while-cooking mask”. So, if there was a bit of mayonnaise going for salad or potato puree – a drop of it would appear on her face as a mask, if that was a cream – it was going for a mask as well, right there with no specific preparations and rituals. Continuous for years “while-cooking mask” gave its results – the grand-ma was looking as a young-ma!:)

These days I decided to renew the knowledge and put it into an action, because nothing works better than an action, a dynamic process of live and experience. I need to say, I found my way of “while-cooking mask” for not to spook relatives at homeJ Herein is the recipe of my “while-cooking mask” for feet, to make them feel nourished and shinyJ More so, it contributes to almost infinite use of the products, saving tons of money after years. Lets start!

Beauty. Photo by Karolina Grabowska on

  • Paper packaging for butter (when butter is finished)

How to apply it?

  • Take a paper packaging for butter and rub the remnants of butter into the feet
  • Let it stay for 30 min or more (depends just on your cooking process in a kitchen) and later remove excess of a “while-cooking mask” with a paper towel

Important notes:

  • Should also work well for feet if using cream, cow butter or Ghee
  • Margarine should generally be avoided, as for feet, as for refrigerator, as for cooking
  • Vegetable oil is not working well for this easy cosmetic recipe, because it is difficult to apply it on dry feet
  • Because butter packaging material is multi-layer and not 100% paper-made, apply it very gently to feet skin. Do not apply to a face skin for the same reason

Prophylactic self-isolation for skin exfoliation. Day 63rd.

Just before the summer will start, it is a time to clean the skin. As almost a perfectionist, for me, skin should be cleaned perfect as well. I found an amazing way to do so thanks to Dr. R.Cassar and his video on youtube channel (1). Of course, I made my own changes and adjustments to the original version. All the equipment needed for this skin exfoliation: cotton towel, cleansing solution, spring water in aerosol and face-body cream.

The results of the cleansing procedure are striking and leading to some speculations: feet, hands, face and neck areas are most grubby, while back and abdomen areas are almost clean. Do not laugh from my towel, check yours!:)

Recipe of cleansing solution

Ingredients and tools for skin exfoliation procedure. Photo by Dr. A. Palatronis on

Ingredients (for onetime all body procedure):

  • Pure spirit (75-90%), 40 ml
  • MSM (methyl sulphonyl methane) powder, 1 tsp
  • Diatomite (diatomic earth) powder, 1 tsp
  • Water (purified), 40 ml
  • Tea tree essential oil, 3 drops

How to make it

In a high quality plastic bottle combine and shake together (with a lid closed) the ingredients one by one in the order as written in the ingredient list. It is ready to use!

How to apply it

  • Take a clean small cotton towel
  • Spray skin with water (purified, spring water, mountain water, etc)
  • Apply some cleansing solution on a towel and scratch the skin through it with nails and fingers. Gently, slowly and firmly
  • Start from feet, than hands, armpits, back, neck, face, décolletage
  • After it is finished – take a warm or lukewarm shower
  • Do not use towel to drain the skin – right after the shower, when skin is moistened and warm, apply a special body cream to it. The recipe of special body cream is described in my previous post: Prophylactic self-isolation for body purification. Day 20th.

Important notes:

  • Only chemically resistant, high quality plastic or glass bottles are appropriate for this alcohol-based recipe. Any empty plastic container from water or other drinks are not allowed, because alcohol would facilitate plastificators and other shady, unwanted ingredients of plastic to penetrate the solution and later the skin. Please use only chemically resistant, high quality plastic or glass container for this solution to prepare
  • Only tea tree oil is suitable for this recipe, just skip the ingredient if you don’t have it
  • Always prepare the amount of solution for the same-day-use, because powdered materials like MSM and diatomite would precipitate with time and form a stiff conglomerate
  • Vodka or pure spirit are both available
  • After a good scratch the skin will be red because of sufficient blood supply to deep skin layers, that is ok
  • Keep away from eyes, keep away from children, and do not drink it
  • Do not apply on injured, damaged or sunburnt skin
  • Do not make the cleansing procedure if supposed to go for sunbath or to swimming pool, other skin cosmetic procedures, massage, etc. directly after it
  • The procedure, in my opinion, could be repeated once or twice per month

Prophylactic self-isolation for face rejuvenation. Day 46th.

Self-sufficient face rejuvenation. Part 2.

Lets kick off the forthright concept of “good cream” and “bad cream” and just continue going deeper in l’earning about the essence (ingredients) of the face cream. We earn what we l’earn, right?:)

In a cream composition, emulsifier joints lipids and water. When applied on skin, an emulsifier joints to the lipid layers of skin too, and “emulsifies” it, bringing “chemically-boosted water” to the surface and deeper skin layers. Literally, a cream emulsifier grabs the existing natural face lipids, and therefore, grabs most of a natural face lipids with time. Emulsifiers dry out skin and cause transepidermal water loss, so-called “wash-out effect”. That is why it seems skin requires a cream constantly. Not surprising – a cream emulsifier has already made its destructive job and grabbed the natural resources of the face. An emulsifier is something, that is necessary for a cream, but not for a Nature-designed face skin. For the lovers of commercial “natural” cosmetics, here are just few examples of “natural” emulsifiers: cetearyl alcohol and cetearyl glucoside, sorbitan olivate, cetearyl olivate. I would probably agree that those substances are derived from natural raw materials (?), however, those substances are already chemically transferred to something unnatural, isn’t it? Emulsifiers are an inevitability for a cream composition, not for skin.

You can find a professional and informative description of emulsifiers in skin care on the website of International Association for Applied Corneotherapy:

Emulsifiers are an inevitability for a cream composition, not for skin.

As water is a good environment for bacteria to grow, preservatives are added to the cream formula. Preservatives are an inevitability for a cream composition, not for skin.

Preservatives are an inevitability for a cream composition, not for skin.

As chemical or “natural” fatty substances in a composition of a cream are usually smell nothing or unpleasant – flavors are added. Flavor regulators are an inevitability for a cream composition, not for skin.

Flavor regulators are an inevitability for a cream composition, not for skin.

Chemical creams require chemical cleansing, right? Later in the evening, we use lotions and face cleaning solutions (who has read the composition of those?:)) And once again, many components of a standard cream are good for an appearance and well-being of a cream, but nothing related to well-being of skin. Those ingredients interconnect with skin, a vital largest organ of a body, and promote a life-long addiction to them by grabbing the natural and offering the chemical. It is like a waterspout, I would call it a chemo-spout, it takes you swiftly and deep deeper into it, there seems to be no chance to get out.

Many components of a standard cream are good for an appearance and well-being of a cream, but nothing related to well-being of skin

Dr. A. Palatronis

More so, who knows how much chemically-boosted substances are penetrating into our bloodstream within the decades of usage? If skin barrier functions have been disrupted by emulsifiers, then a proper barrier against chemically-boosted substances no longer exist.

We talked about emollient and emulsifier in part 1 of self-face rejuvenation post:

To be continued…
